Port to Port is a 2 day bike ride through scenic national parks, rolling vineyards and along the banks of the mighty Murray River. All this for $70.00 inc GST per rider.
Port to Port 2008
November 8th & 9th
The two day bicycle ride starts in Mildura and runs through Swan Hill and on to Echuca. Riders get a glimpse of Hattah National Park, rolling vineyards, orange groves and the mighty Murray River as they pedal over the 400km course.
The Event this year will be staged over November 8th & 9th. (The Port to Port is always held the weekend after the Melbourne Cup.)
Cyclists, who can tackle the full distance or join a relay team, leave the Mildura riverfront bright and early on Saturday morning and head down the Calder Highway. At Hattah, they turn and ride on to Wemen for a break and water top up. Then it is on to the Murray Valley Highway with the Murray River over their left shoulder. After a food break at Boundary Bend, the peleton heads for Swan Hill and a well earned overnight break.
Sunday morning the riders are back in the saddle and look forward to about a five or six hour ride to Echuca. Then it's party time!
In total we travel 400 kilometres in two days. For the fittest … it’s all the way! For the rest of us … a leisurely relay.
A ride – not a race.
Teams register from all parts of Victoria and other States.
A few highlights of the weekend
· Great weather, easy riding and picture perfect scenery
· No night riding
· On arrival at Swan Hill you will find refreshments waiting for
you
· Lots of social activities and a chance to meet other riders
· There is the opportunity for riders and support crew to get together at the Pizza Café in Mildura on the Friday night and at the Murray Downs Golf & Country Club at Swan Hill on Saturday evening. Flyers are sent to participants on receipt of their registration so they can make arrangements.
· Prizes and medals are given to all participants.

Among the regulars who have fronted up for the Port to Port are, Team Harmony, Homicide Squad Cycling Team, Chances Cycling Team, Best Chances, CFA Midlands and Region 14 teams, Water for Life, Echuca Regional Health team and many other teams.
Put Fun into fundraising
The event has been designed to raise funds for Mallee Family Care and the programs we provide to the communities on route.
It’s also a chance for the participating teams to raise money for their own worthy causes.
Port to Port is a fun way in which to gain sponsorship and support for the efforts of your team and your special charity.
